About Vlada

Vlada Marsh

Writer and communications strategist exploring love, self-worth, and the quiet choices that shape a life.

Vlada Marsh is a writer and communications strategist whose work explores love, self-worth, relationships, human connection, and the choices that shape our lives.

Born in Belarus and now living internationally between Georgia and France, Vlada has spent more than 14 years working with words and stories. She studied philology at Belarusian State University and continued her education at Charles University in Prague. Her career has taken her from journalism and editorial leadership to entrepreneurship and international communications.

Before becoming an author, she worked as an editor-in-chief, founded a copywriting school, and built a career creating content and communications for international companies and audiences.

Her first book, It's Not Scary to Be Alone: Starting a New Life After a Breakup, grew out of her own experience of divorce and rebuilding her life. First published in Russian in 2024, the book was later rewritten for an international audience and published in English in 2026.

Today, Vlada writes about the experiences that connect us across countries and cultures — love, relationships, identity, change, and what it means to create a life that truly feels like your own.

The Book

It’s Not Scary to Be Alone

Starting a New Life After a Breakup

It’s Not Scary to Be Alone is an honest, deeply personal book about what happens after a relationship ends — and how to build a life that feels whole again. Blending memoir, psychological insight, practical exercises, and real experiences, Vlada Marsh explores divorce, loneliness, dating, self-worth, and learning to enjoy your own company. This isn't a book about learning not to need love. It's about learning not to fear being alone — so that the next time you choose love, you choose it because you want it, not because you need it.

Vlada’s bravery, honesty, and intelligence shine through in this deeply personal book. Centering on a subject familiar to many of us – divorce – she reflects on various difficulties and perhaps even traumas she faced, and how she found a way through.
The writing is engaging, heartfelt, and often funny, as the author exudes a relatability that will endear readers to her. It often feels like you’re having a deep private chat with a close friend. Simply put, this book is great company.

I wouldn’t class this as a self-help book per se, as there’s more to it than that. Nevertheless, if you’re going through relationship problems and/or have feelings of self-doubt or regret, reading this will certainly be helpful.

The stories are vividly told, and the author is painfully open about her emotions – throughout the text, there is a “you’re not alone” assurance that will bring comfort to any reader. On top of that, Vlada supplements her personal tales and reflections with theories and explanations from the world of psychology. In every such instance, she shares her expertise in this area in a way that will be accessible to all readers – not an easy thing to do.

Dear Vlada, it’s your courageous vulnerability. It is very comforting to read a story about a breakup that feels so honest. The way you framed divorce not just as an ending, but as the catalyst for a journey back to yourself, really resonated with me. I also appreciated the balance between your personal stories and practical exercises.

It didn’t just feel like reading about your experience, it felt like a guide that actually offers the tools to navigate emotional ups and downs, overcome fear, rediscover self-worth. Thank you for being so open!

You know, having navigated a separation, I know how isolating it can feel when society frames it as an ending rather than a chance to rebuild. Your book really helped validate that journey for me. I know firsthand how heavy the societal expectations can feel, especially here in India, it’s too complicated and different.

I had the opportunity to read Vlada's book about navigating a breakup and rebuilding life afterward, and I was deeply impressed by the honesty and depth of her story. She writes in a way that feels very real and human, sharing not only her personal experience but also reflections that many people will recognize in their own lives.

Her story is about courage, self-discovery, and the possibility of creating a new life after difficult moments. It is both touching and inspiring.

What moved me the most is the way she writes from a place of deep inner truth. Her words feel almost like quiet conversations with the soul — gentle, honest, and profoundly human. There is a rare sincerity in her voice that allows readers not only to understand her story, but also to see parts of their own lives reflected in it.
